Background:
St Anne's Primary School opened in 1990 and the school is situated in area of high unemployment and social deprivation on eastern side of Strabane. Broad and balanced, child-centred curriculum includes specialist teaching in Irish, French and music. The school has great links in France, Lithuania and the Czech Republic, which has hosted teaching assistants from Japan, and France. The school provides wide range of activities such as netball, Gaelic football, tin whistle, school choir, creative dance and cycling proficiency. Strong links with community enables children to raise funds for charity. The school has been awarded with Charter Mark (2003) and Schools Curriculum Award (2001), International School Award 2006 and Best Kept Ground Award 2004. The school aims to provide friendly and caring environment where parents and visitors are always welcome and the school has earned the reputation of being a school at the heart of the community. .
