Rural school built in 1936 to serve local farming community; three miles from market town of Omagh in middle of farmland, with views over Tyrone countryside. Main school building extended and renovated in 1992. Pupils encouraged to appreciate and respect environment; helped create nature area with pond, dry stonewall, herb garden, and wildflower garden. Strong links with neighbouring schools; partner schools in France; school trips to places of historical, cultural and environmental interest; also to mainland UK and France. Annual charity fundraising campaigns; senior pupils also involved in Operation Europe and Junior Achievement Primary Programme. Wide range of sports taken by qualified instructors; after-school football, netball and hockey clubs. Art and craft activities encouraged. School choir. Link with European studies; French taught to senior pupils. Links with local community: playschool, youth club, local maintained school, and local council.
